Synder Filtration’s Membranes are Kosher and Halal Certified!

Synder Filtration recently earned Kosher Pareve Certification from the Earth Kosher Certification Agency and Halal Certification from the Islamic Services of America. These certifications are particularly important for OEM’s and end-users throughout the food and dairy industries, who often require their suppliers to provide necessary certifications in order to meet the cultural needs of their customers.

Kosher Pareve Certification – Earth Kosher Certification Agency

All membranes had to be carefully reviewed by Rabbi Yehuda Goldman and his team at the Earth Kosher Certification Agency, to verify that all Sanitary membranes conformed to the Kashrut, also known as the Jewish Dietary Law. This type of certification enables goods produced using Synder’s membrane filtration elements to be used and consumed by members of the Jewish community. Membranes included in the Kosher Pareve Certification include those in the following Sanitary Series: NFS, NFX, NFW, NFG, NDX, XT, VT, MT, ST, SM, MK, MQ, LY, LV, LX, PZ, PY, PX, BN, BY, BX, A6, FR, V0.1 & V0.2. The Kosher Pareve Certificate is effective from November 22, 2015, to November 17, 2016, and will be subject to renewal on an annual basis. The Kosher logo will be incorporated into Synder’s standard packaging soon.

Additional products created via membrane filtration can also be used by other companies that require kosher certification in their production processes. For example, whey protein is a by-product of cheese making, which often involves the use of membrane filtration. Since the membrane filtration elements would be used in processing, these products are often labeled as Kosher and/or Halal compliant.

Halal Certification – Islamic Services of America
The ISA (Islamic Services of America) recently performed a full audit at Synder HQ Manufacturing Center in Vacaville, CA, and deemed the Sanitary membrane filtration products as compliant with Halal standards and qualifications. This type of certification recognizes that the components and raw materials within Synder’s membrane filtration products are compliant with Islamic religious requirements and are permitted for use under the Islamic Dietary Law. Membranes included in the certification include those in the following Sanitary Series: NFS, NFX, NFW, NFG, NDX, XT, VT, MT, ST, SM, MK, MQ, LY, LV, LX, PZ, PY, PX, BN, BY, BX, A6, FR, V0.1 & V0.2. The logo is recognized by Muslim consumers as a sign that our products meet all Halal standards. The ISA logo and seal will be incorporated into Synder’s standard packaging soon. This certificate is effective from February 24, 2016, to December 31, 2016, and is also subject to renewal on an annual basis.

With over 25 years of experience in the membrane filtration industry, Synder continues to focus on building long term customer relationships with our customers. The addition of Kosher and Halal compliance to our certifications provides more opportunity for Synder’s membrane filtration products to be used for manufacturing in the dairy and food & beverage industries. These new certificates highlight Synder’s ability to produce high quality, culturally compliant spiral-wound elements and flat sheet membranes to customers worldwide. In addition, Synder’s Sanitary products continue to conform to 3-A, FDA, and USDA sanitary standards, as well as USP Class VI certification for the pharmaceutical industry for certain membrane types.
